Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. We don’t use an app for everything. For example, our grocery list is still a hand written strip of paper on the side of our refrigerator.
We have tried many diets to control weight. And the one common denominator for success was our keeping aware of our progress. So we keep a weight chart graph next to our scale and part of our waking up in the morning is to step on the scale and mark the weight chart with that days progress. To make it easy to locate the day, we generate a separate line for each quarter of the year.
The only difficulty was at the start of each year to generate the grid lines since each year the dates occur on different days of the year. The solution was to write an app which will generate the chart grid lines taking in to account the year as well as leap years (every four years except once every 100 years).
The weight program generates such a chart. Simply make sure the year, minimum weight, and maximum weight are as you want them. Then press print, look at the preview, press print again and you have your chart for the next year.
